Valeport (UK) launch the Midas TMS - a groundbreaking solution for tidal and meteorological monitoring. The Midas TMS incorporates a wide range of monitoring parameters while applying the most technologically
advanced communications and processing capabilities. Based on Valeport's proven data acquisition techniques, the Midas TMS can be configured with a wide selection of commonly used sensors (including tide/water level, turbidity, wind speed and direction, air pressure and
temperature and many others). The Midas TMS is expected to be a popular choice for monitoring activities in ports, harbours and coastal applications, where conditions must be assessed in real-time and data gathered for forecasting purposes. The greatest benefits of the Midas TMS lie in its computing technology, making it intuitive, easy to use and network for increased control and accurate data retrieval.
The Midas TMS uses a miniature single board computer to display and log data, as well as communicate with the outside world. The Windows based, touch screen display panel allows the user to access the entire system's operating features and customisable data displays with ease and speed. Data can be gathered in real-time and transmitted by modem,
Ethernet, web or radio communications, allowing easy data access to all authorised users. In addition, the Midas TMS also offers WiFi networking - a low cost solution for wireless networking.
