For many years, Sentek (UK) have been supplying pH and Redox electrodes for measurements in swimming pools. The problem with such measurements in the past, has been that the electrodes have not had a very long lifetime. But the users still required high quality at a reasonable price. A great deal of work has been carried out by the Sentek R & D team, and we have co-operated with users to identify the best solution for this question of "long life".
The electrodes we have produced require infrequent calibrations, typically once a month in the first year of their life. We have made this possible by incorporating a strong salt, stable, low flow reference system. Further benefits provided by this reference system are that the electrode can tolerate a great deal of abuse. And they can be stored dry for a period of up to one year, with little or no reduction in their performance.
