getSens (Germany) launches a ultracompact oxygen sensor for lab applications – the getOtwo. As first optical DO sensor with
an outer diameter of 12mm the getOtwo easily replaces popular standard electrodes.
The electrolyte solution must not be exchanged during operation compared to traditional technologies. Time consuming calibrations do not apply as well.
The optical measuring method is extremely precise and is particularly suited for analyzing even little oxygen concentrations. The getOtwo does additionally feature an integrated sensor for temperature
compensation. Furthermore the device performs pressure compensation and salinity correction. Due to its USB interface the getOtwo can be easily connected to standard PCs. Comfortable windows software is, of course, included in delivery.
The optical measurement of oxygen concentrations using the getOtwo is superior to traditional measuring methods in many fields. The sensor does not consume oxygen and does not need an incoming flow thus avoiding numerous measurement errors due to its design. The getOtwo is
insensitive against electrical and magnetic interferences as well as CO2, H2S and other sulfurous gases. Hence measurements even in liquid, high-viscosity and electrolytic media are possible. Furthermore, the getOtwo does not show attrition whilst non-use.
The housing protected against leakage as per IP 67 permits the getOtwo being used either in lab applications as in environmental monitoring. Possible fields of application of the getOtwo are: water analysis; beverage analysis; concentration measurements; monitoring of oxidation processes; fermentation monitoring; bio applications.
