Stable measurements for a resilient water industry

12 Mar, 2026

Extreme weather events, rising requirements for drinking water quality, and increasingly complex wastewater processes are putting operators under growing pressure. A sustainable and resilient water and wastewater infrastructure therefore needs one thing above all: reliable measurements, even under challenging conditions.

From 4-7th May 2026, VEGA will demonstrate how modern level and pressure measurement technology helps keep processes consistently stable and efficient at IFAT in Munich, hall C1, booth 239. Interactive demonstrations at the booth will showcase the performance of the sensors under realistic operating conditions.

A key focus will be wastewater treatment. Precise and stable measurement values are indispensable in every process stage from inlet and pumping stations to sedimentation, aeration, sludge dewatering, and effluent monitoring. Even in the presence of foam, vapours, build-up, or changing media conditions, VEGA sensors deliver reliably reproducible results - especially where other measurement technologies reach their limits. This helps prevent overflows, optimise energy consumption, reduce downtime, and ensure long-term process stability.

VEGA will also present solutions for safe and efficient water management - from drinking water supply and flood protection to monitoring critical infrastructure. Precise level and pressure measurement technology ensures the safe operation of tanks, reservoirs, pipelines, and open channels. Intelligent point level switches support automated alarms and control processes, increasing operational safety even under extreme environmental conditions.

Another focus is digitalisation: Modern IIoT connectivity enables easy integration of sensors into existing control systems and ensures continuous monitoring of all critical process conditions. The collected measurement data becomes decision-relevant information, enabling predictive maintenance and increasing plant availability. The combination of robust measurement technology and intelligent data utilisation makes water and wastewater facilities efficient, reliable, and future-ready.
