The introduction of a new generation of electrochemical sensors, announced in March, continues. The latest developments across the new range of products are summarised here.

1. Formaldehyde precalibrated sensor module

This product contains an on-board pcb which outputs a ppm HCHO reading directly, eliminating the need for customer calibration. Independent tests show it to be more accurate and stable than competing products, particularly in the sub-0.1 ppm region. The detection range is 0.03 to 2ppm, lifetime in excess of five years.

This device is assembled in China by our partner company Prosense Technologies and contains Dart Sensors electrode components. Dart Sensors labelled products assembled in China are subject to a quality inspection programme covering assembly and calibration by Dart Sensors personnel.

2. Carbon monoxide precalibrated sensor module

The formaldehyde module technology has been adapted for use in a precalibrated CO sensor module, out- putting a ppm carbon monoxide reading directly. The low cost uncalibrated sensor remains on sale at $6 with volume discounts negotiable. These products are assembled in China by our partner company Prosense Technologies, and contain Dart Sensors electrode components.

3. Hydrogen sensors

Two and three electrode industrial hydrogen sensors are available in three concentration ranges, manufactured in China by our partner company Prosense Technologies.

Distributorship applications from outside China welcome from all regions.

The above products are available now from our China office. Meanwhile, current developments from Dart Sensors in Exeter include the following:

4. Alcohol sensors

Our transdermal (skin contacting) alcohol sensor for wearable technology has created great interest in its novelty aspect, but we believe that its compact design will find a ready market in the law enforcement field in preference to the bulky ankle-worn devices currently used.

5. 2 pin lead-free oxygen sensor

Pre-production testing of the world's first industry compatible, fuel cell oxygen sensor continues. Don't switch to 3 electrode versions yet! The sensor will launch in China, and distributors are now being sought from the rest of the world.
