Handheld instrument monitors for nitrogen and argon leaks as part of pivotal gas management system.

Having increased the number of gas generators and argon tanks in its bioanalytical laboratory, Russia-based Quinta-Analytica Yaroslavl, purchased an advanced GasCheck G gas leak detector from leading global specialist in gas detection instrumentation for occupational health and environmental monitoring, Ion Science.

Quinta-Analytica Yaroslavl is using the handheld GasCheck G gas leak detector to monitor its liquid chromatography (LC), tandem mass-spectrometry (MS/MS) laboratory, which performs the analytical aspect of clinical research studies, for nitrogen and argon leaks.

Founded in 1997, Quinta is an established provider of multiple R&D and regulatory services for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and generic drug industries. The company’s main activities are pharmacokinetics and BA/BE clinical studies (EMA, FDA, CAN, Russia), bioanalytics, drug analysis, including method development and transfer (GMP/GLP analytics of drug substances, final dosage forms and metabolites), batch QC release, stability studies, analytics in inhalation antiasthmatics, peptides and proteins.

“Monitoring nitrogen and argon leaks is an important part of our gas management system,” comments Yuri Dzhurko, Ph.D, Senior Analyst at Quinta-Analytica Yaroslavl. “We chose the Ion Science GasCheck G gas leak detector on recommendation.”

Ion Science’s GasCheck G gas leak detector represents the latest in handheld gas detection technology. Its advanced system of micro thermal conductivity enables advanced sensitivity for the rapid, effective detection of gas leaks down to cc/sec, mg/m³ or parts per million (ppm) levels.

Quinta Analytica is using the GasCheck G monitor on a regular basis with data being manually recorded in a log book.

Yuri adds: “The GasCheck G has met our requirements in terms of ease of use, functionality, quality and cost effectiveness. It is also extremely reliable and accurate, which ensures the health & safety of laboratory staff.”

Designed for the search and location of gas leaks, the GasCheck G leak detector provides effective detection of almost any gas or mix of gases. Robust and reliable, the GasCheck G leak detector gives stable, repeatable readings. The instrument’s LCD display, LED indicator, and audible sounder clearly indicate when a gas leak is present.

GasCheck G automatically zeros to the ambient air around it when switched on and is ready to detect immediately. The instrument’s easy to use graphical interface and intuitive keypad allows for simple function, selection, and adjustment.

Upgradeable throughout the range, the GasCheck G gas leak detector is available in three distinct versions; G1, G2 and G3 with varied capabilities. Features can be easily added by upgrading the instrument without it having to be returned to the factory.
