QED Environmental Systems have launched their new LANDTEC® BIOGAS 3000™ fixed gas analyser, a next-generation system that provides continuous monitoring of the entire gas production process. Built on field-proven gas analyser technology, this compact, self-contained device provides cost-effective online monitoring for anaerobic digestion, biogas monitoring and landfill gas monitoring applications.

The BIOGAS 3000 uses up to 4 sample ports to monitor methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2), with an option to monitor levels of hydrogen sulphide (H2S), hydrogen (H2) and carbon monoxide (CO). End-users can monitor up to five gases of their choice. This instrument is easy to instal and maintain, and QED provide their customers with a temporary replacement unit during service, which results in no operational downtime for servicing. The BIOGAS 3000 system is simple to use and calibrate; it is calibrated to ISO/IEC 17025 standards to maximise precision.

QED’s latest fixed gas analyser offers a continuous monitoring option for CH4, CO2 and O2 and by adding external H2S sensors in ranges between 50 to 10,000ppm, it is the perfect tool to monitor before and after desulphurisation. Moreover, pre-calibrated sensors are available to enable operators to avoid downtime. Integral liquid level monitoring with an assigned alarm and moisture removal drain or an optional automatic drain which empties the catch pot with no manual intervention, provides operators the flexibility for simple, on-site maintenance.

Housed in an IP65-rated enclosure, this device is (ATEX) and IECEx (IEC System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres) Zone 2 areas approved. A variety of communication options are available for a SCADA system; this includes 6 configurable 4-20mA outputs with a Modbus RTU communication protocol. Additionally, process Field Bus (PROFIBUS), Process Field Net (PROFINET) and Ethernet communication protocols are also available.
