Fixed gas detector
DALEMAN’S DAT 420 ATEX Toxic Gas and Oxygen Detector has been designed to keep people and facilities safe by continuously monitoring gas concentration levels in commercial and industrial locations, including areas where there is a potential risk of explosion.
Working with a compatible data logger, the DAT 420 uses an advanced electrochemical sensor to monitor for the presence of toxic gases or measure oxygen levels in the ambient air. It can be configured to match the highest concentration of gas expected in a given application and provides readings in units such as parts per million (PPM) or percentage by volume (% v/v), depending on the gas being monitored.
The DAT 420 gas detector converts the sensor’s readings into a standard 4–20 mA electrical signal, which can be transmitted to control systems or data loggers for monitoring and recording. Among the common gases it can detect are carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen monoxide (NO), oxygen (O₂), ammonia (NH₃), chlorine (Cl₂), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), sulphur dioxide (SO₂), and hydrogen sulphide (H₂S).
Built for harsh environments, the DAT 420 has a rugged, explosion-proof aluminium housing with dust and water protection, along with an Ex-certified cable gland and a protective metal filter. The casing can be opened for straightforward maintenance, such as replacing the sensor or filter.
Operating within a temperature range of -10°C to +40°C, this device is certified for operation in explosive gas zones 1 and 2, as well as explosive dust zones 21 and 22. Its ATEX certification guarantees its suitability for industries where hazardous gases may be present, from wastewater treatment plants and chemical facilities to biogas sites and confined industrial spaces. By providing continuous, reliable measurements, the DAT 420 enables organisations to comply with safety regulations, protect their workforce and maintain smooth, uninterrupted operations in potentially dangerous environments.
