Waters Corporation (USA) today launched a new product line of analytical standards and reagents consisting of an initial portfolio of more than 200 pre-formulated reference materials and reagents for the scientific laboratory. Waters Analytical Standards and Reagents respond to the needs of laboratories to enhance productivity, support globalisation, stimulate business growth and strengthen compliance.

Waters will manufacture its standards and reagents at a newly-built facility in Golden, Colorado. From small-molecule, single-component standards to protein digest and glycan standards, Waters Analytical Standards and Reagents are now immediately available on a worldwide basis. Over time the company will continue to add new products to its portfolio in response to customer demands.

A hallmark of Waters standards and reagents is absolute traceability. In order to be true, the properties of the measurement must be directly linked to a source reference material through an unambiguous, unbroken and fully documented chain of comparisons.

As a qualified, single-source provider of certified and ready-to-use standards and reagents, Waters can help laboratories: Relieve staff of tedious and unproductive manual labor, Free up staff for more value-added activities, Tighten inventory control/control operating costs, Minimise waste and environmental impact, Streamline workflow/make operations leaner/adopt more consistent measures of producing test results, More easily evaluate the quality of analytical measurements, Increase confidence in the accuracy and quality of analytical measurements by eliminating standards and reagents as a potential source of erroneous results, Comply with stricter regulations and Improve turn-around times for analytical results
