Register for an International Conference on Mercury Pollution
Apr 27 2022
Registration is now open for the 15th International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant – . This year, ICMGP will be held virtually between 24th and 29th July, during which delegates will be able to interact with each other and question our expert presenters within an exclusive platform. After the Conference has closed its digital doors, delegates will be able to revisit any of the presentations at any time.
For many, the United Nations’ Minamata Convention on Mercury was a wake-up call. As one of the most harmful anthropogenic pollutants, the coordinated reduction of both exposure and emission has become one of the main priorities in the management of public health worldwide. More recently, however, concerns have been raised over mercury’s role in the climate crisis. As a contribution to these discussions, the theme of ICMGP 2022 is: Reducing mercury emissions to achieve a greener world.
In order to build the sort of broad consensus needed to meet these challenges, the Conference will bring together a whole host of expert representatives from various industries, governments, research institutions, NGOs and academia in general conference and special sessions.
Among many other topics, these sessions will consider the possibilities of low mercury energy and industrial technologies in the interest of constructing a low-mercury society. For instance, delegates can attend lectures detailing case studies in the implementation of the Minamata Convention as well as more specialist presentations that consider new developments in understanding, such as recent advancements in the chemistry of reactive mercury concentrations. As part of this programme, alongside technology for the reduction of mercury, new equipment for the measurement of mercury in various samples will be showcased.
Clearly, then, if you want to be a part of the fight against mercury pollution, you’ll want to register for ICMGP 2022.
