MIPAN – the Microwave Process Analyser has been used for more than 15 years for NH3 measurement successfully. Now with the new measuring cell a compact system is available which improves the dynamic properties. T90-time of the standard version is 1 second with a detection limit of 1ppm ammonia. With a special designed sample bypass and appropriate flow response of 0.1s is achievable.
Physical background is an absorption method of microwaves under reduced
pressure. P The MIPAN’s striking features are: The absolute selectivity i.e. no cross-sensitivity by other compounds or the matrix, what is an inherent characteristic of the physical measuring technique used. No zero drift by unique modulation technique, long term sensitivity stability.
Easy sample preparation, just filters are necessary Lower NH3 detection limits by increased average time (e.g. 0.5ppm with 4s) MIPAN may also be used for other polar compounds, ask for the complete application list. Prometh GmbH (Germany) has a lot of experience measuring ammonia in very different application fields like R&D of catalysts, slip measurement in power plants or ultra fast inspection of bottles.
