Point Orange Remote Telemetry Unit Transforms Monitoring
Nov 14 2017
Metasphere’s Point Orange Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) provides a simple, all-in-one, low cost logger for data collection and monitoring of complex sensors used within an environmental and meteorological application. It offers flexibility, programmability and versatility for use in remote locations.
Point Orange has the capability to integrate with almost any sensor, allowing the user to select the best application-specific sensor. It can integrate with more complex sensors, such as combined weather stations, to provide a vast array of information across numerous parameters back to the user; either via Medina Data Gatherers, DNP3 masters or FTP servers, or alternatively data can be stored and displayed using Metasphere’s Bureau Service.
Its simplicity makes it an attractive proposition for those who currently use complex loggers whose deployment requires additional hardware and is time-consuming. In contrast, Point Orange is a self-contained, battery operated, IP68 rated logger that is simple and cost-effective to install and configure.
In addition to its analogue and digital capability, one of Point Orange’s key features is its Serial Communications that allow it to integrate with any sensor supporting Modbus or SDI-12. The unit has 5 inputs, external power switching, integrated submersion sensor and intelligent alarm reporting. It also benefits from automatic switchable internal/external antenna and built-in tri-band 3G/GPRS modem.
