Gasmet Technologies has developed a free Android App for users of FTIR gas analysers.

Designed to provide quick and easy access to highly useful information, the new App includes the Gasmet FTIR spectrum library, a sample gas dew point calculator, a unit conversion tool and a CO2/O2 concentration calculator.

Currently able to run on Android phones and tablets, the Gasmet App is available on request by visiting www.gasmet.com/technology/gasmet-smartphone-app.

The FTIR spectrum library, once downloaded, remains on the mobile phone, which means that it is always accessible, even when no internet connection is available.

The dewpoint calculation feature is of great benefit to anyone involved with extractive emissions monitoring, helping to ensure that readings are not affected by condensation in the sample line or within analysers. This feature also includes Sulphuric acid dewpoint calculation using the Okkes formula. These calculations are always an estimate based on the parameters entered.

The combustion calculator determines the predicted O2 concentration from CO2 (or vice versa) when the fuel type and water vapour concentration are known. Tip: set water vapour to zero to calculate the dry O2 concentration.

The unit conversion feature enables users to convert mg/m3 from ppm and vice versa. It also supports different reference temps for NTP and STP.

Users of the App should note that multicomponent analysis and file conversion/export are not supported in the app. For this functionality it is necessary to run the Calcmet Standard or Calcmet Professional software for Windows. Calcmet Standard is included with Gasmet FTIR Gas Analysers and Calcmet Professional requires an additional license.
