Explicit: Making a difference in emissions monitoring using advanced drone tech

Explicit ApS is a Danish engineering company specialising in emissions monitoring, primarily in the oil and gas industry (onshore and offshore), using drone technology. We combine in-field sampling with ISO-accredited lab services, compliant with OGMP 2.0 Level 5 guidelines and the upcoming EU methane regulation.

Emissions have a significant impact on both climate and air quality, yet many sources remain underreported. The oil and gas industry is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions, including methane. Accurate and timely emissions monitoring is essential for regulatory compliance, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency.

Using the Drone Flux Measurement (DFM) method, accredited under ISO/IEC 17025, we quantify greenhouse gas emissions from critical sources with a sniffer drone equipped with high-performance gas and wind sensors. We have also developed a drone-based solution for measuring the Destruction Removal Efficiency (DRE) of flares, providing an accurate assessment of combustion performance and related emissions.

To support seamless access and analysis, we developed E-Lab, our cloud-based software platform that connects drone operators and clients in a single workflow. Real-time data is transmitted to the E-Lab system for analysis, quality control, and reporting. The platform ensures ISO 17025-compliant results and allows clients to access emissions data and survey reports at any time.
