World’s first black carbon analyser capable of taking real-time data directly on the sample filter

23 Oct, 2025

Particulate matter is a major atmospheric pollutant which adversely affects both global warming and health. Dado lab have created a non-destructive method for determining real-time black carbon concentration.  Dado’s Giano BC1 is the world’s first PMx sampling system, with an integrated black carbon optical sensor, that enables real-time particulate measurements with traditional 47mm sample filters. Thanks to the non-destructive measurement, further analysis can be carried out to determine the chemical speciation of the sample too.
