Asbestos-related diseases take the lives of approximately 90,000 people across the globe yearly. Whilst it is banned in the EU and most European countries, asbestos is often present in older dwellings and industrial plants and factories built during the 50’s 60’s and 70’s, creating a health hazard to anyone exposed to contact with dangerous medium.

Casella have recently launched their Vortex3, which they say is the market’s most innovative and advanced high flow pump, created to make asbestos and air sampling a simple task.

The Vortex 3 features a level of flow precision better than +/-5%, which means users can be completely confident in the accuracy of the results.

Casella have used their patent-pending interlocking concept, to make it very easy for operators to carry several units at a time. This air sampling pump weighs in at a mere 2.17 kg and  features a very ergonomic handle.

The Vortex3 has a IP65 rated housing, which protects the air sampling pump from dust and water ingress. This sampling pump was designed with a smooth finish, free from small indentations that could collect airborne asbestos fibres, thus facilitating safer decontamination and cleaning.

Casella’s extremely well-built sample pump has a 2 ½ hour run-time at 12 litres/minute with a standard filter guaranteeing continuous and reliable operation. The Vortex3 is available in 2 versions with the Vortex3 Pro being compatible with the Airwave App from Casella and Bluetooth, so operators can operate and monitor the device remotely via a mobile device.

It is possible to email data, photographs, and site information to give further context to the sampling statistics and making the reporting process far quicker and easier for the user and providing extra traceability.
