Process Measurement & Analysis Ltd. (UK) will be present at WWEM 2014, stand 21, where visitors will get the chance to learn about Online Coagulant Dose control for Chemical Phosphorus Removal with the Com::pass CPR. Removal of Phosphorus from wastewater is expensive, with increasingly tighter discharge limits applied. Removal uses Ferric coagulant precipitation-settlement techniques, but controlling this addition is often crude, and overdosing can lead to Iron consent breaches and a waste of expensive chemicals. Com::pass CPR employs novel Submersible Spectrometry techniques to assess coagulant demand more scientifically by additionally accounting for other competing factors affecting P removal, such as Solids and Organics loading. Using real time data in a feed forward mode saves money and improves effluent quality.
