AML Oceanographic (Canada) - formerly Applied Microsystems Ltd. - is pleased to announce the launch of the X•Series of Sensor Xchangeable Instruments.

The X•Series allows you to change any instruments’ sensor-load, in-the-field and on demand, without compromising sensor accuracy. Using the X•Series, your CTD can become an SVTP; Shallow pressure sensors can be swapped for deep; and temperature range can be extended or tightened, as needed. In the picture at left, a multi-sensor Smart•X instrument can be deployed on a vehicle as a CTD, an SVP, a CT, or an SVTP. Pressure range can vary - on demand - from 50 dBar to 6000 dBar and temperature range can switch between -2 to 32oC and -2 to 45oC.

But the X•Series lets you do more than just adjust the sensor load of one instrument. All X•Series instruments share a common architecture, so any sensor-head can be attached to any instrument, regardless of size or type. What does this mean? One of the sensor-heads attached to the Smart•X in the picture could be redeployed to a Plus•X to complete an in-situ study or to a Minos•X to do a vertical profile.
