MCERTS-approved wastewater samplers from Aquamatic (UK) are helping one of the world’s fastest growing copper producers enhance its environmental management system.
At a major project in Zambia, three of Aquamatic’s Aquacell S2K
samplers are in successful operation. These floor-mounted kiosk-based
samplers collect wastewater in the unit’s integral 24 x 1 litre
polypropylene bottler, enabling effluent samples from an entire
day’s discharge to be made available for inspection.
Jeremy Smith, Aquamatic’s Managing Director, commented: “Our samplers have enabled our customer to adhere to Zambia’s environmental regulations, which are based on strict World Bank policies and industry best practice. “Our samplers play a very important role in the company’s
wastewater monitoring, as part of their overall strategy to systematically document their environmental activities”.
In addition to its S2K, Aquamatic has just launched the new S300 Stationary Wastewater Sampler, which is MCERTS-approved and capable of housing a wide range of single and multiple container configurations in its large, fully insulated, refrigerated lower compartment. It is also designed with room for mounting additional effluent monitoring equipment.
Aquamatic is the first UK company to gain MCERTS certification for its main range of wastewater samplers. MCERTS is designed to give surety to industry that wastewater sampling equipment meets stringent performance criteria set out by the Environment Agency in line with current international standards and the growing requirements of EC Directives.
