EN15267 Stack Monitor for SO2, NOx and CO emissions

When monitoring stack emissions there are - apart from other specific components - always three core components in focus: SO2, NOx and CO. To determine the NOx (NOx being the combination of NO and NO2) concentration in many cases NO2 is reduced to NO via a converter. NO is then measured either by NDIR, UV or other techniques. Converters are usually simple to operate, but they require space, and the active material is consumed over time – depending on the NO2 load of the stack gas. This creates service and material costs as well as blocking space for additional analysers.

Siemens Set CEM CERT is currently being certified to report NOx as an ULTRAMAT 23 measurement of NO and NO2 to provide the sum total of both measurements as NOx calculated in the Set CEM CERT. By using measurements that are already present, the operation of a converter is unnecessary, and this is reflected in a substantial reduction in OPEX.

ULTRAMAT 23 has passed the EN15267 test for certification ranges of 50 mg/m³ for CO and NO, which saves costs. The ULTRAMAT 23 is a highly cost effective multi component analyser supporting applications that were not possible before.
