High-performance PID sensor nominated for Sensor Product of the Year

Jun 09 2023

ION Science have announced that its globally renowned MiniPID 2 sensor has been nominated in the sensor category for the 2023 Instrumentation Excellence Awards. Voting for the awards is now open - please see here.

The MiniPID 2 sensor, highly acclaimed for its exceptional performance, has gained recognition as a leading contender in the industry. This nomination is a testament to ION Science's commitment to excellence, as well as its desire to advance gas sensor technology through extensive research and development.

Duncan Johns, the Group Managing Director of ION Science, expressed his enthusiasm about the nomination, stating, "We are thrilled to be nominated. Not only does this demonstrate our leading global position as a sensor manufacturer, but it also highlights our focus on research and development, as we seek to continuously improve sensor performance. I therefore hope that as many people as possible will vote for the MiniPID 2 in recognition of the outstanding work conducted by our sensor development team."

PID (photo ionisation detection) sensors play a major role in detecting hundreds of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including fuels, petrochemicals, solvents, paints, adhesives, and cleaners. These VOCs can pose considerable risks to both human health and the environment, making PID sensors crucial for ensuring the safety of lives, assets, and surroundings.

The MiniPID 2 stands out as an exceptionally advanced sensor; its key features include a patented design to eliminate potential humidity interference, rapid response time, unparalleled sensitivity, industry-leading reliability, and a wide range of PID lamps that optimise the sensor for a wide range of applications.
