Varian, Inc. (USA) announce the release of the Varian 400 GC Series, a new family of high performance gas chromatographs and application specific analysis solutions. The 400 Series consists of two gas
chromatograph models and an associated range of analyzers and solutions designed for both standard analyses and custom applications. These new systems allow chemists and engineers to employ standard methods and/or high quality trace sample analysis, in the energy, agrochemical
and environmental industries.
The Varian 450-GC builds on Varian`s longstanding tradition of blending state of the art chromatographic performance with industry leading configuration flexibility.
The 450-GC is a powerful and technologically advanced analytical instrument that offers robust operation in an easy-to-use package. The instrument offers users a broad array of inlets and detectors, together with many standard and customizable gas and liquid valve systems. The new, high resolution color touch screen/user interface is intuitive to use, easy to read from a distance and is easily adapted to support local languages. Optional UltiMetalTM treatment renders all internal stainless steel components inert to maximize trace sensitivity and deliver improved performance for difficult samples.
The Varian 430-GC offers the same outstanding performance as the 450-GC
but in a compact, single channel package that occupies about half the bench space of conventional multi-channel GCs for a safe, less cluttered work environment. It is the perfect alternative for dedicated or routine use.
Gas chromatography is particularly important in a broad range of energy applications including the analysis of petrochemicals, natural gas and biodiesel. Varian has updated its GC analysis solutions to accommodate the latest changes to petrochemical industry standard methods and introduces solutions for biodiesel analysis. Both the 430-GC and the 450-GC incorporate the latest column technology fromVarian including FactorFourâ„¢VF-WAXmsâ„¢, the world`s first capillary column with a stabilized wax stationary phase, and the Selectâ„¢ Biodiesel Glycerides column, the first high resolution metal capillary column specifically designed to withstand the rigors of triglycerides analysis at high temperature over extended periods of use.
The 400 Series GC systems fully utilize Varian`s powerful Galaxieâ„¢Chromatography Data SystemSoftware, offering unparalleled
expandability and multi-vendor instrument control. Customizable calculations and reports, special application “plug-ins” and the
highly innovative Schedulerâ„¢ software simplify operation in complex, high throughput, multi-instrument laboratory environments.
“The new 400-GC series delivers superior analysis solutions for widely utilized standard methods and user-specified applications,” said Martin O’Donoghue, Senior Vice President, Scientific Instruments, Varian, Inc. “Varian is unique among GC manufacturers in offering a full range of complete product solutions backed up by highly trained sales and support teams around the globe.”
