Skalar has successfully installed its San++ nutrient analyser aboard the Kazakhstan research vessel, the Zaysan.

The Zaysan is operated by KazEcoProekt who has been a long-established partner for Skalar. The Zaysan now partners the Akku research vessel for surveys across Kazakhstan controlled areas of the Caspian Sea. Having the San++ installed within the vessels allows for real time analysis straight from sampling. This speed of analysis vastly improves reliability, precision and quality of results.

Seven parameters are analysed directly by the San++ in seawater, brackish and river water samples thus totally removing the necessity for sample preservation and storage, which can be costly and a logistical challenge due to limited space on-board ship.

The Zaysan scientific research vessel is an example of many San++ installations on board ship.

Typical San++ applications in seawater include: Nitrate, Nitrite, Total Nitrogen, Orthophosphate, Silicate, Total Phosphate and Ammonia.
