P S Analytical (PSA) provide highly specialised analytical instrumentation for the analysis of mercury, arsenic, selenium, antimony and bismuth in many sample matrices including environmental as well as food and beverage samples.

These toxic metals in their various forms are dangerous, environmental hazards and of great concern. The determination of both total and speciated chemical forms is becoming of huge importance and this demand has created new analytical challenges in terms of sensitivity, selectivity and freedom for interferences.

As well as these new analytical challenges, operational needs such as; reliability, durability, ease of use and low running costs are all important considerations - and recognised cornerstones of PS Analytical’s global reputation.

Combining Atomic Fluorescence Spectroscopy (AFS) with cold vapour generation or hydride generation has been PSA’s main speciality for nearly 4 decades. Having added analyte separation capability to facilitate speciation studies, PSA now provide extremely powerful tools to simplify theses processes. The separation of methyl mercury from inorganic mercury in water, shellfish, seaweed, dairy products, vegetables and grains or determining inorganic arsenic from less toxic organo-arsenic species in water, rice, seaweed are examples of routine applications developed for this growing area of concern.

PSA have always innovated new methods and applications to help their customers. They relish a challenge, so anyone facing a tricky analytical task should contact the PSA team – they have built their reputation of solving these problems. They have thousands of systems operating in the field and satisfied customers across the globe.
