Kunak Technologies Awarded for its Innovative Environmental Monitoring Project in NEOM

Kunak Technologies was honoured with the ‘Best Air Quality Network Monitoring Award’ at the AQE Awards 2024, held in Birmingham, UK, on October 9th and 10th. This recognition highlights the innovative environmental monitoring project that the company has implemented in NEOM, Saudi Arabia.

The award-winning project focuses on air and water quality monitoring in the Red Sea using ocean buoys equipped with advanced sensors. Ten buoys are anchored less than 50 metres offshore, providing accurate and reliable environmental quality data. The Kunak AIR Pro sensors integrated into these buoys deliver detailed, real-time information, enabling comprehensive environmental studies and promoting regional biodiversity conservation.

During the AQE 2024 exhibition, Javier Fernández Huerta, CEO and co-founder of Kunak, along with Irene Lara Ibeas, R&D manager, and Claudia Barrios Obregón, International Sales Director, presented the company’s environmental monitoring solutions. The NEOM project was selected as the award winner through a combination of decisions made by an independent panel of judges and a popular vote, underscoring this initiative's relevance and positive impact.

The recognition at the AQE Awards 2024 highlights Kunak's technological excellence and commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. The company continues to lead the implementation of innovative solutions for air and water quality monitoring, significantly contributing to environmental conservation and the well-being of local communities.
