Alphasense, an industry-leading manufacturer of sensors for air quality monitoring, gas detection and industrial applications, has increased its product portfolio with a new range of photoionisation detection (PID) sensors, offering customers a broader choice of detection ranges, short lead times and exceptional value.

Offering the highest quality and unparalleled performance in a variety of applications including the harshest of conditions, the new range of PID sensors is held in stock at Alphasense’s UK factory, ready to be shipped.

With a choice of five PID sensor models, each with a specific detection range, Alphasense’s customers can now match PID sensors to their specific applications. Models include 0-20ppm, 0-40ppm, 0-200ppm, 0-4,000ppm and 0-10,000ppm variants.

Alphasense PIDs measure Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) to extremely low concentrations, with a detection range down to 1 ppb on the most sensitive model. The new range boasts rapid response times, superior baseline stability and is virtually unaffected by humidity/temperature changes. This next-generation range of PID products is covered by a 12-month warranty on lamps/ 24-month warranty on other components, features a user-replaceable electrode stack/particulate filter and is backed up by the first-class technical support Alphasense customers are accustomed to.

Erik Børgesen, DVP Business Manager of MOCON Europe and Alphasense said: “The market for PID sensors is growing globally and we are responding with new products and technology to meet this demand. Our new PID sensor range offers excellent performance at a price point we believe will help lead to further adoption in both the Environmental and Safety sectors.

“The global strive for cleaner air is driving innovation in sensor technology and we are proud to be at the forefront. Alphasense pioneered the production of low-cost sensors for the measurement of air quality and it’s in the DNA of the company - customers can be assured of working with us as a reliable and ethical market leader.”
