TSI Incorporated (Singapore), leading manufacturer of precision measurement instrumentation, is pleased to introduce the portable Nanoparticle Emission Tester (NPET). The NPET Model 3795 is capable of measuring total solid particle number (PN) emissions from diesel engines equipped with a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

First to meet Swiss Regulation 941.242, the NPET has been specially designed with built-in official measurement protocol for periodic certification of diesel-powered construction machinery. It is also ideally suited for a variety of field measurement applications, including DPF retrofit programs and vehicle inspection and maintenance programs.

TSI's Nanoparticle Emission Tester utilises proven CPC technology to accurately and directly measure PN emissions - the same technology used in both Euro 5 & 6 regulations. Featuring a ruggedised sample probe with built-in dilution, a volatile particle remover and a software program optimised for a Windows 8 tablet, NPET is easy to set up, operate and obtain measurement results in only 45 seconds.

"Opacimeters are no longer sensitive enough to measure particle emissions from modern diesel engines equipped with a DPF. Using proven CPC technology, the Nanoparticle Emission Tester easily measures particle emissions from low emission vehicles and engines making it well suited to detect cracks or failure of exhaust after-treatment systems, including DPFs," commented Brian Osmondson, TSI Sr. Global Product Manager.
