For a fifth year, Inc. magazine has named Tiger Optics LLC (USA) to its 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Among manufacturers on the 2013 list, Tiger ranks as the 57th fastest-growing concern, jumping from 76th place on the year-earlier list. To determine rankings, Inc. measures the company’s percentage revenue growth over the previous three-year period.

In the greater Philadelphia area, the magazine rated Tiger Optics as the 39th fastest-growing private company, and 50th among the top 100 Pennsylvania companies. Nationwide, Tiger ranks 1,995th on the 2013 Inc. 500|5000, rising from 2,285th place on the 2012 list.

Founded in 2001, Tiger makes innovative gas analysers that are used to monitor highly critical processes in semiconductor fabrication plants, chemical companies and gas manufacturers. The company is also expanding into the emerging market for precise but robust monitors to track releases from natural gas pipelines and continuous emissions. More than 1,600 robust Tiger units are found in these demanding environments, as well as in 19 metrology institutes.

The company makes all of its products in Pennsylvania, while 70 percent of its sales occur in foreign markets. Its 2012 revenue of $9.4 million rose 188 percent from its 2009 revenue. Previously, Inc. magazine named Tiger Optics to its 500|5000 lists in 2012, 2011, 2009 and 2008.

To qualify for the current list, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2012.
