New generation of weather stations

Pessl Instruments’s team of experts developed a new generation of weather stations, iMETOS LoRAIN – the most essential sensor set for every field. It is an affordable, compact and easy to use precision farming equipment. The official launch of the product was 25th of February, 2019.

It was developed with 35 years of experience and Pessl are confident to say that with this station in the field, one will never miss the spray window, overuse fertiliser or let disease take control of the field again. The station measures the most essential weather parameters (temperature, relative humidity and rainfall), calculates many more with the help of 8 virtual sensors and as a result becomes an indispensable decision support system. It has an everlasting energy source in the form of a solar panel and works whenever the minimum of sunlight is available. The collected data is sent via LoRaWAN network to the FieldClimate platform, where it can be reached with the help of a mobile app, from anywhere, anytime.

Not only in crop production, it can be helpful in livestock production as well. The station assures that the climatic conditions in stalls are under constant control and can help prevent animal health problems that occur in houses with nonstandard climatic conditions.
