Compact Rugged Weather Station

DeltaT Devices (UK) have introduced a new high quality weather station that is exceptionally easy to set up and operate. The WSGP1 is delivered prewired with a set of carefully matched high grade sensors including rain, solar radiation, wind speed, wind direction, relative humidity and air temperature.

The WSGP1 is supplied in two suitcasestyle carry cases that can be used to store or transport the system. The cases are easy to stow in a vehicle and are light enough for one person to carry on site. The sensors and logger are ready assembled and prewired on the crossarm, making it an easy task to assemble the system, even in difficult environments. The well illustrated Quick Start Guide leads the user through the simple process of installation, setup and data collection.

Despite the low system cost, the sensors are dependable and suitable for use in demanding environments. The galvanised steel tripod and white painted stainless steel crossarm ensure excellent physical strength. A simple 2m pole is available as an alternative for mounting in concrete, or the crossarm can be ordered separately for fitting onto the customer’s own mast (4252 mm diameter). The internal battery provides 6 month’s operation (typical for alkaline, much longer with optional lithium battery).

Recorded weather data can be collected directly with a notebook PC, remotely by optional GSM modem, or using a Pocket PC pda with the optional Pocket DeltaLINK Software to collect and view the data, or reconfigure the logging setup in the field. The WSGP1 records are easy to access and, as well as standard options, include the ability to log and display: wind rose, gusts, averages (including direction and vector average), maximum and minimum readings with times of occurrence.

The WSGP1 is an excellent choice for research or agricultural and environmental applications where reliable and accurate weather data is required.
