Modern Water plc (UK), the owner of leading water technologies for the production of fresh water and monitoring of water quality, recently presented at the 2013 Citi Water conference in London which was attended by many global water industry leaders.
The presentation on Water Scarcity Solutions: Desalination verses Water Reuse was given by Modern Water’s Executive Chairman, Neil McDougall and looked at how Modern Water’s innovative forward osmosis technology can help the world’s most water stressed countries.
The delegates heard how unlike traditional desalination, Modern Water’s forward osmosis process requires up to 40% less energy, produces a better quality of water with lower levels of contaminants, especially boron. Forward osmosis plants also have a far lower operational cost due to lower fouling of the membranes in the plant which therefore give the membranes a longer life as well as allowing the plant to continuously operate.
Modern Water’s Executive Chairman, Neil McDougall, commented: “We are delighted that forward osmosis has been recognised as one of the hottest topics in the water industry and that Modern Water has been given the opportunity to present at this prestigious event in the City of London.”
