Building has begun on a new facility designed to re-house a
wastewater treatment plant based in Pensacola, Florida.
The Main Street
Wastewater Treatment plant will be moved to the new site in Cantonment and over 100 builders have already started to work on its construction, reported pnj.com.
It is thought that up to three times as many construction workers will contribute to the build before its completion and it has been lauded as one of the biggest construction projects currently being executed in Florida.
Larry Walker, board member for the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority, commented: "It comes at a good time for our economy. We are getting good bids because of it and because our project is one of the biggest around."
He added that, once complete, the plant will receive
wastewater from as far as 14 miles away.
