New wastewater process to help reduce CO2 emissions

A new wastewater process system has been introduced to help reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

Environmental Water Systems (UK) has launched the HVD process solution, which softens water and helps reduce the amount of wastewater.

According to David Hayes, writing for Process and Control Today, the technology will help companies "address their responsibly to reduce CO2 emissions and meet ever more stringent statutory environmental requirements".

He stated that by softening water to remove dissolved calcium and magnesium, less water will be wasted to wash away the scum and limescale that these leave behind.

"Because there is less rinse water, the volume of wastewater produced by the HVD process reduces accordingly," Mr Hayes wrote.

This in turn will also lower the amount of energy used as less pumping power is required to remove the wastewater.

Between October 5th and 6th 2010, Environmental Water Systems (UK) will attend the Healthcare Estates Conference to discuss the water softening system and encourage more people to employ the HVD process.
