The new F-Search MPs available in the UK from JSB allows users to easily identify and quantify unknown microplastics (MPs) in the environment, with a sophisticated search program and mass spectral libraries ofpyrolyzates. The software is used with the data obtained by pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and the analytical process is very easy and straightforward. F-SEARCH MPs is compatible with all major GC/MS systems equipped with Frontier Lab analytical Pyrolyzer.

The creation of calibration curves and quick quantification is done automatically for the registered plastic types using external or internal standards. A reference polymer mixture in inorganic diluents is also included for easy weighing. F-Search MPs automatically performs quantification, and the results are instantly reported for the environmental MPs.

Twelve commonly used polymers are registered in the libraries, and the software allows to users to establish their own libraries.

The registered polymers are Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, ABS (Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene resin), SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber), PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate), Polycarbonate, Polyvinyl chloride, Polyurethane (MDI type), PET (Polyethylene terephthalate), Nylon-6, Nylon-66.
