Certified compact solution for official emission measurements

13 May, 2026

P-AMS certified to DIN EN 15267-4

Since 2018, the EN 15267-4 standard has set out the requirements that a portable measuring instrument must meet for official measurements of emissions from stationary sources.

The EN 15267-4 standard does not, in principle, specify any measurement principles but is open to alternative methods provided they are proven to be equivalent to the standard reference methods in accordance with EN 14793.

Until 2020, there was no measuring instrument on the market that had been successfully tested and approved in accordance with this standard.

MGAprime Q

The MGAprime Q exhaust gas analyser from MRU has been certified and notified as a portable automatic measuring system (P-AMS) in accordance with standard DIN EN 15267-4.

The approved measuring system provides the user with a compact solution for their measurement task and in addition to the sampling probe, consists of the MGAprime Q analyser, which contains the complete gas preparation system as well as the modules for gas analysis.

Wide range of measurement applications: This measuring instrument simultaneously measures nine gas components (O2, CO, CO2, NO, NO2, N2O, SO2, CH4, C3H8) simultaneously. It is therefore suitable for numerous emission measurements at stationary sources such as industrial combustion plants, large boiler systems and gas engines (QAL3, AST).

At the same time, measurements of gas temperature, flow velocity and volume flow can be carried out.

Innovative measurement technology

The gas components are measured using a paramagnetic sensor and NDIR technology. The measurements of SO2 and NOx meet the requirements for equivalence with the standard reference method in accordance with EN14793. This eliminates the need, for example, for a chemiluminescence detector with an upstream NO2/NO converter.

The system is based on drift-free and precise NDIR measurement technology. The high number of channels measured in parallel allows for mathematical compensation of the effects of the measured accompanying gases.

The large touchscreen display enables simple operation and offers a variety of display options, including text and graphics.

Measurement data can be transferred via LAN, Wi-Fi, 4–20 mA, RS485 and USB stick. In conjunction with MRU’s proprietary software solution, MRU4Win, data can be further processed and, for example, test reports generated as PDF files.
