ABB to unveil next-generation monitoring solution for IED 2.0

08 Apr, 2026

ABB has announced that it will launch a monitoring solution designed to meet the tightening demands of industrial emissions regulation and the next generation of monitoring requirements.

Across Europe and beyond, regulatory frameworks governing industrial emissions are becoming significantly more stringent. The Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and associated Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions have already tightened emission limit values for installations such as waste incineration plants, while upcoming revisions will push monitoring requirements even further. These changes require operators to deploy monitoring technologies capable of measuring extremely low emission concentrations while maintaining robust compliance with quality assurance standards such as EN 14181.

In response to this evolving regulatory landscape, ABB is preparing to launch a new analytical platform developed specifically for facilities operating under increasingly demanding emissions limits. The upcoming system has been engineered to support operators facing stricter certification ranges and expanded compliance expectations under future emissions directives.

Further information about the launch will be announced soon.
