The Model 425 Discrete Interval Sampler, from Solinst, is designed to obtain representative groundwater samples from a specific sampling zone without the need for purging.

The stainless steel sampler is connected to LDPE tubing, mounted on a convenient reel, and pressure activated using a hand pump. The sampler is pressurised before being lowered, and upon retrieval, to prevent mixing. Pressure is released at the desired depth to obtain a sample.

Discrete interval sampling is ideal for obtaining groundwater samples from below floating product layers, or for obtaining samples of the product itself. It can be used to profile open bodies of water and boreholes.
