The headspace GC technique allows one to concentrate volatiles or residuals present in a sample prior to its analysis. In this manner, the detection of low levels of volatile compounds is enhanced and matrix interference is minimized.
Sigma-Aldrich/Fluka offers a range of solvents specifically designed for headspace GC applications. The high purity of these solvents results in cleaner blanks and improves the detection limits. All headspace solvents are filtered at 0.2 μm and packed in PTFE coated amber glass bottles under inert gas. These solvents are specified to meet demanding requirements of GC-Headspace applications. A consistent quality with extremely low levels of organic volatile impurities is assured for dependable performance.
