A Press Day held at Clare College, Cambridge offered editors from more than 30 science publications the opportunity to learn more about a host of innovative products and services that will be seeking to make the headlines in 2010 in the laboratory, life science and biotechnology sectors.
Senior executives and technologists from companies including Asynt, Bibby Scientific, The Brady Corporation, Camlab, Eppendorf, IKS International, Quality Systems International, Spectro and Starna Scientific presented numerous state-of-the-art developments in a wide range of technologies. Several of the companies took the opportunity to give pre-launch viewings and demonstrations of new products that will be officially unveiled at a variety of major international trade shows later in 2010.
Commenting on the event Paul Carter, Phoenix MarCom Managing Director, said: “The event attracted delegates from Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany as well as the UK and included presentations, discussions and exhibition materials highlighting a wealth of new bioscience techniques and applications. We were also fortunate to have as our guest speaker, Dr Thomas Scheuring, Head of Exhibition-Congresses at DECHEMA (The German Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) from Germany who presented an overview of the work of the organisation which promotes international research and technical advances in the areas of chemical engineering, biotechnology and environmental protection”.
