The most professional Eco Expo Asia show yet, exhibitors commended the consistent quality of its visitors.
Secretary for the Environment of the Government of the HKSAR, the Hon. Mr Edward Yau, JP, opened the fair on 28 October 2008. In Mr Yau’s address he spoke of the importance of eco-efficient businesses throughout the world and in Hong Kong. “To deliver a cleaner and more sustainable world, there is a need to encourage closer interaction and networking between ecoinnovators, product suppliers and buyers. The Eco Expo Asia [fair] offers a useful platform for this kind of interaction to take place.”
Additionally, Mr Yau discussed the government’s plans to work closely with the Pearl River Delta region to reduce emissions, develop wider use of renewable energies, enhance conservation and greening as well as publicity and education. This push will no doubt be seen as a positive collaboration within the global environmental protection industry.
