Environmental Measurements (UK) are launching 3 new products at the beginning of 2010 to add to their exisiting range of weather monitoring instrumentation. The first is an extension to their SBS aerodynamic raingauge range where a version with 200mm diameter funnel has been added to the range to cater for the preferred smaller funnel requirements of a number of overseas markets. In conjunction with this the company is also bringing out a new GSM/GPRS data logger for use with their entire raingauge range as part of a flood early-warning system.

The new system will allow the remote collection of rainfall data from a simple single unit installation up to a complete countrywide raingauge network while at the same time alerting users to potential flood conditions when pre-set alarm conditions are exceeded. The system comprises data logger, raingauge and software. The 3rd new product is a touch-screen display monitor specifically designed to be used in conjunction with the Vaisala WXT520 weather transmitter and which displays the 6 major meteorological parameters of wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and precipitation.
