Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG (Switzerland), has strengthened its presence in China and expanded its production capacities at the Suzhou plant. “This will mean we will be able to respond to our customers’ requirements with even more speed and flexibility”, enthuses Dr. Gerhard Jost, Managing Director of the company based in Reinach. Klaus Endress, CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group, sees the expansion in Suzhou as part of a sustainable growth strategy: “We are expanding our production sites around the globe to be closer to our customers all around the world.”

The new building increases the usable space fourfold from 2,500 to now over 10,000 square metres. “We will be using this additional space primarily for the areas of production, logistics and shipping, as well as for new offices. That means we will be perfectly equipped for the future”, reflects Dr. Gerhard Jost.   One of the key points responsible for this rapid upturn over the past six years is the strong growth in the water and waste water sector. Related to this is the precise measurement of water flows in pipelines, for example in sewage plants or in the distribution of clean drinking water. In China, too, this topic is becoming increasing important.   The number of magmeters produced by Endress+Hauser has therefore risen continually. The demand for flowmeters for large pipelines has also been growing steadily. “This situation was addressed not only in the expansion of the site, but also in the construction of a new calibration rig which is one of the most modern in the world. This means we are able to put our measuring instruments through their paces in line with international standards”, said Dr. Gerhard Jost.
