A new study has revealed which cities in the UK have the best
air quality, green credentials and quality of life.
Factors such as environment, education,
air quality and future climate change plans were evaluated across the country by think-tank Forum for the Future and resulted in southern cities scoring higher than northern areas.
First on the list was Bristol, followed by Brighton and Hove and Plymouth.
Chief executive of Future Forum Peter Madden said that it is not "good luck" that determined the sustainability of a city.
"Leaders who want to reap the rewards in the future need to start planning now and put sustainability at the heart of their strategy," he added.
Yorkshire Water and technology form Brinker announced that they have jointly developed innovative water pipes that use technology emulating blood platelets to perform self-repair when damaged.
