The Swiss Baumer Group announce that it has acquired the majority of Waaree Instruments Ltd., one of India’s leading suppliers of process control instruments. The company is part of the Indian Waaree Group, a family enterprise based in Mumbai. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The acquisition will boost our activities on the Indian subcontinent. It complements the international expansion strategy of Baumer and is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our process instruments business,” states Dr. Oliver Vietze, Chairman & CEO of the Baumer Group.

“Waaree Instruments is an established player in India with a widespread Indian distribution network and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. This will improve our ability to meet local customer requirements, speed up our local delivery and to timely react to the dynamic and growing Indian market.” With the acquisition, Baumer will achieve a leading position in the Indian market.
