Portable Photosynthesis System with Enhanced Performance and Features

Oct 20 2011

ADC BioScientific (UK) designers and manufactures of Plant Science research instrumentation, has introduced a portable and easy to use photosynthesis system for advanced field experimentation. The LCpro-SD is a truly portable and affordable photosynthesis system with full experimental programming and environmental control.

The LCpro-SD provides full automatic and enhanced control of the environmental conditions within the plant leaf chamber. CO2, H2O, Temperature and PAR can now be more accurately and easily controlled than ever before. All the environmental control facilities are contained within the single compact and lightweight console.

Featuring the very latest in Infrared Gas Analysis technology, the LCpro-SD features a number of enhancements to field gas exchange performance including an extended measurement range, faster response times and less instability caused by ambient CO2 fluctuations.

Weighing only 5kg, the LCpro-SD is less than half the size and weight of traditional systems. The battery operated LCpro-SD will function continually for up to 16 hours from a single charge. Sophisticated photosynthesis experiments, such as A/Ci curves and light response curves, can now be easily performed in previously impractical field locations.

The LCpro-SD features enhanced graphic display capabilities for real time experimental viewing. Data is stored on removable SD cards and can be reviewed on the graphic display and downloaded directly from the SD cards, via USB, or RS232.

An expanded range of easily interchangeable leaf chamber heads means that the LCpro-SD can be used for the largest ever variety of field applications, including a wide range of plant leaves, whole plants and a soil chamber for field soil respiration experimentation.

This powerful, yet affordable, research instrument will prove an invaluable tool in enhancing our understanding of world crop efficiency and a host of global environmental issues.
