2020 has certainly been an interesting year, with the business and travel challenges from COVID 19 contrasting with the higher demands that tighter IMO sulphur limit legislation has brought in for marine emissions.
This has presented a unique opportunity for IRIS as experienced CEMS service providers with expertise in marine support to adapt to a new challenge. Businesses have a need for additional resources but are not quite ready to take on new permanent staff in these fragile economic times. IRIS’s knowledge and flexibility, particularly in the high demand of the marine environment, can fill this gap in provision reducing both training time and risk associated with a long-term contract, thus forming a mutually beneficially partnership.
The team at IRIS have been providing technical service support for CEMS in the UK and internationally for 30+ years. The two directors have a complimentary background with 30+ years in CEMS and 25+ years in Royal Navy and marine, with others in the team having a strong history in electronic engineering and industrial service work, forming a unique combination of experience and skills to serve customers in both land and marine EGCS CEMS service support. Current contracts are in place with cruise vessels, scrubber manufacturers, cargo vessels plus land-based incineration, chemical, petrochemical and power plants.
