Continuous Emissions Monitoring

With ever stricter national and international obligations being placed on industry for monitoring and controlling emissions, the need to take accurate measurements has never been greater. This is the case for every sector, whether that be power generation, waste treatment or industrial process and manufacturing. For more than half a century, ABB has developed, manufactured, and supplied analyser products and systems to all sectors of the worlds industry.
ABB (UK) offers Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) that provide high quality measurements and data whilst being highly cost effective at the same time; Pre-engineered systems with compact and modular design, Low cost of ownership during whole life cycle, Powerful NDIR and FTIR analyzer technology, Self & remote monitoring capabilities, MCERTS approved for use on UK installations and Nationwide support service portfolio.
A good example of how ABBs MCERTS approved gas analysers have been used to good effect was demonstrated by the owners of Rugeley power station (UK), International Power Ltd. The project was the first implementation of ABB analysers under MCERTs at a UK coal-fired power plant, and has since led to the products being used in a wide variety of industrial applications. "ABB was selected from a long list of 12 suppliers because
they demonstrated a clear understanding of our needs and have a proven capability of fulfilling these needs," said Neil Betts of Rugeley Power Ltd Providing a full turnkey ongoing service, the company provides a guarantee for more than 95% uptime, 99.98% accuracy and 48 hour response to call outs. This system offered value in both terms of capital and operational expenditure, especially when considering that the products can also dramatically reduce the cost of calibration, now only being required annually.
