Tethys Instruments’s (France) UV400 analyser provides efficient measurement of COD and ammonia in surface water. The UV400 is based on UV absorbance and FFT after scanning absorbance waves, this technology ensures the online monitoring COD and ammonia is accessible and reliable.

One of Tethys Instruments’s customers, Landmark Water Environmental Engineering & Technology Ltd. Co. (深圳市兰德玛水环境工程科技有限公司), has used the UV400 analyser with COD and Ammonia successfully for monitoring surface water during last year. This monitoring was so efficient that this company achieved the protecting environment award of Shenzhen townspeople in 2011(2011年深圳市民环保奖获得者)from the Shenzhen City Government.

The UV400 analyser offers the possibility of measuring, by UV spectroscopy, several parameters including; organic matter, nitrate, ammonia, hydrocarbons, H2S, chlorophyll A and rhodamine. It can also scan the sample between 180 and 800 nm. This method is well-known for its unparalleled reliability and good stability with an extremely low operating cost.

Landmark Water Environmental Engineering & Technology Ltd. Co. chose COD and ammonia as the primary monitoring parameters with UV400 analyser, and applied the measured data to the 'Integrated System of Dividing Quality to Discharge Surface Water On Line' for rivers, lakes and reservoirs around Shenzhen City. The item is serviced for water and human settlements at Shenzhen City.

The UV400 analyser covers a very low measuring range in this case:

COD: 0.01- 100.00 mg/l, the measurement values are usually below 10 mg/l;

Ammonia: 0.01 - 100.00 mg/l, the measurement values are usually below 5 mg/l.
