Horizon Technology (USA) announces a low cost Fast Flow Sediment disk holder for solid phase extraction of particulate laden water samples. The system combines a large (100mm) prefilter chamber in conjunction with an affordable 47mm SPE disk in one simple to use assembly drastically reducing the extraction time for dirty water samples which are typically not compatible with standard SPE cartridges. Designed for use on Horizon’s SPE-DEX 4790® Extractors or on vacuum manifolds, the new Fast Flow Sediment Disk holder enables particulate laden samples to flow quickly from original sample bottles onto a smaller SPE disk without clogging. Solvent costs remain low because extraction is performed on a smaller 47mm disk and analytes retained on particles are extracted onto the solid phase disk improving analyte recovery.
