Wastewater treatment company Hydro International has been given a £15.6 million contract to for its
water quality technology system.
Earlier this week, it confirmed the deal had been made with GBM - a joint venture between Galliford Try, Biwater Treatment and Mott MacDonald.
It is thought that the contract for Hydro International's Zickert Sludge Scraper technology is part of GBM's plans to upgrade the sewage treatment works at Beckton STW.
The equipment, which provides a sludge transportation system for use in sedimentation tanks, will be employed as part of the £63 million Thames Water project.
It has been chosen for its ability to reduce operating and infrastructure costs on the work, which is expected to begin in 2011.
After the deal was announced, Hydro International experienced a ten per cent jump in the AIM-listed company's share price.
Earlier this month, the water treatment company hit the headlines following the appointment of Martin Foyle as its new group commercial director, who was brought in to help the firm create a strong and consistent brand.
